Hmmm…I knew Track 4 sounded familiar, but I couldn’t place my finger on it. It makes sense that it came from Le Chevalier d’Eon…I haven’t watched that in a while. ^-^;;

“Light Before We Land” was an absolutely fantastic opening and it’s what got me started on listening to the Delgados in the first place. But even if you remove it out of the equation, the BGM is sheer orchestral bliss. I definitely recommend giving that one a listen and see if you can place the scenes in context with the music.

Glad that you enjoyed it. I don’t typically take a peek at sci-fi shows as often as I’d like, but Planetes is definitely enjoyable so far. There hasn’t been an episode where I’ve been disappointed yet (and I’ve seen around 7 or so).

I’ve no doubt that Planetes will skyrocket up there on my list of favorites. Now if only I can cut down on my accursed backlog to be able to get to finishing it.

Ouch. Well, I can definitely recommend the first, second, and fifth show highly from my personal experience. Other people have found Oh! Edo Rocket to be a blast. As for Le Chevalier D’Eon… I appreciate what it’s trying to do, but in the end, it turns out to be just a smidgen above average. Worth your while if you’re into political machinations, but it falters a bit towards the end.

Ah, Planetes. Still the best anime in my book and with one of the best OSTs around. Outside Atmosphere certainly showed the glory of being out in space around Earth, with its ending, as you described, like the sun shining upon the earth and an observer in space seeing that for the first time. It must be very gratifying.

For some odd reason, your blog was not on my feedreader, no wonder I missed the quiz till now.

mm. well I haven’t seen the third or fourth shows, and I only recently started noticing music in anime at all, so no surprise I didn’t notice GSG… and when I think ‘GSG’ and ‘music’ I just think ‘Delgados’ since they are one of my favorite bands. Haven’t seen enough planetes to likely recognize the track. Only recognized Aria because i was watching the show rather recently.
