@depthchargex
What I got out of the first season was a sort of floaty, but wonderful feelings waiting to be expanded further. It's just a taste, but a very good taste and you are correct in that they build upon each other until the stunningly beautiful conclusion in Origination. I'll never forget the last few episodes which somehow managed to outdo each other :p

It takes a lot of build up to enjoy Aria I think. I finished the first season and thought it was alright, but nothing amazing. Watched second season and enjoyed the character development more, and then the OVA and Origination was just unbelievably good.

And the music is definitely one of the most important factor in bringing out the atmosphere and emotion.

*listens to more aria music*

@Baka-Raptor
It's kinda funny the way they described the song too in that it was very... “Zuntaka Pokoten-ish.” That doesn't explain a whole lot obviously, so my speculation is that Sawada was looking for sounds children might make when they were skipping along joyfully and that was what he ad-libbed up.

@Reltair
A major component in enjoying it requires that you be able to form that bond with the characters and setting and be able to relate on the show's terms. What that show did for me was demonstrate that things don't necessarily need to be happening to be enjoyable. As long as you can follow along with the characters and take delight in their little discoveries, you'll be able to get a good amount of mileage out of it.

The music is good, but I remember I forced myself to finish watching the first season. It just seemed so chill where nothing was really happening, which in turn made it boring for me.

Guess I don't really need some sort of emotional healing.

I always wondered what the composers were high on when they wrote “Zuntaka Pokoten”. In a good way of course.

@Glo
I contend that this show is best watched when you're feeling really down and need some sort of emotional healing. Of course, that requires that you surrender your emotions to this show, but if you're able to do that, you'll find it to be a rewarding experience.

After listing to smile, I realized that I really need to watch this damn show. It's time to stop messing around and get it done.
