Anime Instrumentality Welcomes Yu
Anime Instrumentality’s staff contest has come to a close. In running the contest, it’s heartening to know that there are a lot of people out there who not only love anime, but also the music within, and for that, I would like to thank all of those who have applied.
After going through all the applications, I’m really happy to announce that the talented and enthusiastic Yu will be joining our staff! You might have seen Yu’s comments pop up from time to time on this site and she’s demonstrated a good amount of insight into anime music through said comments. Expect an introduction from her in the next few days as well as a review of a soundtrack I’ve heard a lot of good things about, but have not yet listened to. Wish her well and I hope you enjoy her anime music musings.
Ah, well a congratulations to her. I’ll be looking forward to her reviews and contributions to the blog. :3
Welcome Yu! Diversity is always appreciated ;D
Yu wa sh0k!
If there ever were a potentially punny name…
@Baka-Raptor
I don’t get it.
Congrats… I wish you luck in the future Yu! ^^;
Aww, I didn’t even know there was a contest going on. Congrats Yu, looking forward to your posts!
Congratulations Yu.. Looking forward to reading your posts!!
=)
@Valence
I’m still trying to figure out what diversity you speak of. The core writing staff is made up of:
4 Asians, 2 of each gender.
2 Cello fans
3 Classical fans
Not much diversity there!
@Baka-Raptor
That encompasses our two newest contributors in a nutshell.
@Aftershok
You’re a terrible anime music reviewer for not getting the joke! :3
Always awesome to see others start blogging, and certainly nice to hear another voice here. Anime Instrumentality’s team sure has grown quite a bit!
I’ll be looking forward to Yu’s posts. ^ ^
Applied for Anime Instrumentality? Didn’t make it? Come in through the back door. Join The Nihon Review. [/shameless plug]
>Yu
>Yuu
>…necromancer
>raises Anime Instrumentality from the dead at some point? 😀
XD
Ah well, congratulations =)
@Aftershok: Dude…
>.>
Guess I’m not manly enough to have seen Fist of the North Star.
Neither am I, apparently.
Thanks for the well-wishes, everyone!
Congrats on the draft, Yu. Looking forward to your insights. 🙂

I demand someone with Dance/Shibuya-kei/Hip-hop background! =P
But honestly, the stuff that gets passed around in otaku circles as Dance/Techno/Trance is just horrid stuff. Like Euro-Techno. *shudders*
@MrMayat
I demand someone with that knowledge domain too! Unfortunately, no one knowledgeable in those areas applied! :[
@zzeroparticle
Actually, a thought did cross my mind to enter the contest. But since I can’t dissect music for nuts, and not to mention writing analytically about it, I gave it a miss. It’s more of an intuitive thing for me. If the music moves me (physically or mentally), it’s good enough for me.
BTW, I just checked your archives and found out that it’s missing some great albums. Namely Samurai Champloo, Mitchiko to Hatchin and Katanagatari. *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*
@MrMayat
The good news for the very last soundtrack you listed is that I’m going through Katanagatari right now and have found the music very much to my liking. If it doesn’t get put up soon, then it’ll be during Iwasaki month, which, by my guess, will be about 2 months away!
